Jackson WALDRON, 82, of Salem, went to be with his Lord on
Monday, July 1, 2002.
A veteran of World War II, he was in the 29th
Division that participated in the Invasion of Normandy.
He was a former employee of Harris Hardwood and
retired from the VA Medical Center in Salem.
He was a member of American Legion Post 3, and
Post 4318 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Mr. Waldron was a member of Washington Heights
Grace Brethren Church.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Katherine
Mitchell Waldron; one son, Jack Waldron of Glenvar;
three daughters and sons-in-law, Faye and Bob
Ewers, Judy and Chuck Huels,
Betty and Jim Whittaker, all of Roanoke; eight
grandchildren, Ami Facemire, John Waldron, Robbie Huels,
Catherine Ewers, Jacquie, Travis, Kristian
and Dale Waldron; and ten great-grandchildren;
one brother Goode Waldron, of Pembrook; several
brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law
as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
